Why the Biggest Loser Strategy Works

When I first saw the Biggest Loser show, I doubted these contestants would their weight and become slim, but they did. Those who did not win came back home with a huge smile; they had lost a significant amount of weight and were proud of it. So I wondered why the Biggest Loser strategy works.

What we all see on the TV is only a fraction of what happens on the ranch. The careful monitoring of the calorie intake, the workouts, the advice of the experts and the support of the team members; all these inspire the contestants to lose their weight and believe in themselves that they can do it. In fact Kae Whang, one of the contestants of the show lost 20 pounds in a week; something most of us would plan to do in more than a month.

These contestants work on simple strategies to not just to lose weight and maintain it when they go home. Some of the strategies include:

  1. Make a plan: when you start weight loss plan when you would exercise and what you should eat and what you would avoid. Planning would help you to achieve smaller goals, which would eventually lead to your bigger goal.
  2. Do not starve yourself: The trainers on the stress on eating several small meals throughout the day. These meals are high on fiber and nutrition and should have a low fat content.
  3. Make an exercise regimen: The trainers stress on a cardio workout that should be done twice a day.
  4. Involve your family and friends: If you involve your family or friends in your workout, you enjoy them and chances are that you will keep motivated for a longer time.
  5. Do not give up: Although you may face several challenges and become tempted to give up, you have to inspire yourself to keep going and continue your efforts to keep yourself fit.

Hence the biggest loser diet and the biggest loser workout become effective only if you keep going and resolve not to give up easily. This is what the contestants take back when they go home and this helps them to keep fit.

The Winner of the Biggest Loser Season 13: Jeremy

The biggest loser season 13 finale was aired last week and it was a grand affair that befits a finale. Jeremy became the biggest loser of the season and won the cash prize of $250,000. He was the most probable winner when compared to two other finalists namely, Conda and Kim. He had made full use of the biggest loser diet and workouts to shed almost a whopping 199 pounds.

He had worked hard from the beginning and he had gotten an edge over the other contestants as three contestants walked out of the show just two weeks before the finale. This indeed gave him an advantage but it was his hard work and dedication that helped him lose so much weight in such a short span of time.

When asked what he planned to do with the prize money, the instant answer was to lend his friend, Buddy some money as he had wanted to buy a van. Jeremy is a young twenty three year old banker who has always wanted to achieve much but was discouraged to do what he wanted because of his excess weight. The other finalist had also lost much weight but theirs did not come near the weight Jeremy lost.

Conda had lost 115 pounds and Kim had lost 118 pounds each. Kim won the Michelle Obama challenge and got a gym for her hometown. Jeremy is from Rockford and weighed 389 pounds at the beginning of the show when he had come to the ranch. He had lost 51.16% of his body weight and is now down to 190 pounds. He looks much slimmer and healthier now. Jeremy also faced a twist when he was eliminated two weeks ago but got a chance to secure a place in the finale by competing with the fourteen eliminated contestants from the show. Jeremy has won the biggest loser season 13 title and has become an example for many youngsters to lose excess weight.
